As a general rule, the month of January sucks. It's associated with such great evils as post-Xmas poverty, failed New Year resolutions and terrible weather.
What great news then, that the BBC have found the perfect remedy for such bleakness, with an offering of 6 new episodes of supernatural mayhem.
Featuring the new line-up of vampire Hal, werewolf Tom and ghost Alex, Being Human's fifth season will continue to embrace its winning formula of domestic trials wed with occult phenomena, something it has done with great success in the past.
While last series did a good job of introducing the new line-up (ghost Annie, who departed at the end of the fourth series, was the last remaining original character) I'm hoping that this series reaches the extraordinary dramatic heights of Year Three and steers the BH mythology in new, exciting directions.
Word is that we'll be back with the supernatural trio before January's end, so stay tuned for further posts and reviews once more announcements are made.

In the meantime, there's a teeny weeny preview, courtesy of BBC Three, which you can watch here.
